Zax is located on 312 Barton Springs Road.

Hey there everyone,
It has been a couple of really great weeks in the life of the HOT DANG. Sales, sales and more sales. We are officially being carried in a number of stores and I wanted to give everyone an update of where to find us!
on the menu:
Hat Creek Burger Co at 5400 Burnet Rd. or 4407 Bee Cave Road
- you can get it as a burger or on top of one of their delicious salads! I like mine with cheddar and jalepenos, just sayin’.
Zax Restaurant and Bar at 312 Barton Springs Road
- Whether you are looking for an elegant night out or a casual lunch with friends, Zax is the place to go. Every time I go in it seems like their space gets more beautiful.

Whole Foods Market at 9607 Research Blvd. or 525 N Lamar Blvd.
- this great store prioritizes health and wellness which makes us love them so much.

Thank you all for your support. Mad love and grain burger goodness to you all!
Martha P, the OG
The HOT DANG is a grain burger. Firstly, it is made out of grains. Organic Texmati brown rice, organic pearled barley, and organic wild rice are the main ingredients. Add organic rolled oats, organic cashews, farm eggs, hot mustard and sea salt and there you have the HOT DANG. Secondly, the HOT DANG isn’t made up of veggies or texturized vegetable protein. Most meatless burgers these days are based on heavily processed soy, that is the texturized vegetable protein that you see on the ingredients label. Here’s my beef with that: it isn’t a good thing to consume anything so intensely processed, those calories are empty, because machines take away the most nutritious parts of the food. Our bodies want to work through the food we eat, that is how we get our energy and all of the nutrients. It is the healthier way. Click here for a more in depth article about processed soy and here for one on eating whole foods. Enter here the grain burger. It is positively loaded with fiber, protein and good fats that I keep as close to their natural state as possible, so your body needs to do the good work of breaking these proteins and fibers down.
Another beneficial effect of the grain burger is texture. There is a really nice texture to the HOT DANG that is hard to find when eating other veggie burgers. This sucker has a really great crunch to it when you pan fry it and even when cooked on the grill (or the microwave) doesn’t get that soggy, mushy texture. I attribute this quality to the whole grains and the cashews. All of the ingredients come together to make a truly delicious grain burger that is good for you to boot.
I know that I feel full and good when I eat the HOT DANG (and I eat a lot of them)! I think that you will feel this difference too!
Here are a couple of pictures of the final box, the one you will see in stores. Soon to follow will be new flavors, new colors, t-shirts, stickers, hats, marketing is fun!!!
Hi Visitors,
Thanks for coming to see this site. Soon, we will have a full blown website ready for your viewing pleasure. In the meantime, you can come here to check out our progress.
Tomorrow marks one week away from going into the kitchen and pounding out the HOT DANG en mass. It is going to be fun, but there are plenty of i’s to dot and t’s to cross before we get there.
We hope to see you in stores soon!!!
